br>
Do you need some golf vacation tips to plan your
best golf vacation ever?
If
you are an avid golfer chances are when you are planning a vacation,
whether it is to do some intensive golfing with your buddies or just
looking to get a round in while on holiday with your family the first
of many things you want to consider is availability. You have to have a
golf course nearby!
But these days golf courses are pretty much
everywhere so no matter where you go it is likely that you will be able
to play some sort of golf.
These golf vacation tips will help guide you through the other
important decision factions you should consider while planning your
golf vacation.
Golfing on a Family
Vacation
Chances
are when you are on a family vacation you won’t be spending every
moment on the golf course unless another family member is as into golf
as you are OR your family expects not to see you while on vacation.
Lets
assume you family wants to see you and would like to do something other
than golf. If this sounds like your family then follow these golf
vacation tips.
The main planning tip is to be sure that you pick a vacation that includes
both golf and other attractions. Whether it be a beach,
shopping, amusement parks ensure that you are taking the rest of your
family into consideration.
If
you are planning on including your family members in a round of golf
ensure that there is a course that isn't too challenging for novice
players.
When it comes to golfing while on a family vacation it is all about balance between your
golf game and family. Get your golf in early in
the morning so that you can enjoy the afternoons with your family.
Golf Buddy Vacation
No
matter who your golf buddies are, whether they are your college
roommates or your wife and son, a golf buddy vacation has golf at its
center. These are our golf vacation tips for you and your golf buddies.
If you are planning to play more than one round of
golf everyday you are going to need to find a resort or location that
has variety so that you don't get bored.
So look for locations
that include more than one course within a close distance
(within 30 mins or less) or even better a golf destination that has
multiple courses on site like Tennessee Mountain Golf.
Decide on how you want your sleeping arrangements to be before you
book. Do you all want to stay together under one roof - then you need
to search for accommodations that will sleep at least a group of 4 if
not more. This usually means you are looking at a hotel suite
or condo style rooms.
Also make sure that if you are going to prepare any of your own meals
that you are close to a grocery store. This might seem like a given but
if the golf resort is remote you may have to travel some distance to
get stocked up.
Plan
your Own versus Packaged Golf Vacations
There are pros and cons to both planning your own golf vacation and
buying a packaged golf vacation. Consider these golf vacation tips when making your choice.
The pros of going it alone are that you are free to find a centralized
location and fan out to a larger variety of courses from your home
base. I once visited Tampa while my wife was there on
business and was able to golf at a different course every day and not
have to go more than 30 minutes from our hotel.
Plus not all golf vacation locations have all inclusive or pre-packaged
options. The more remote you are going the less likely you are to find
something packaged.
Going with a packaged vacation, especially all inclusive golf vacations
are those where you don't have to worry about meals and the golf course
is usually on the property.
However you usually sacrifice some variety or accept additional costs.
That said pre-packaged golf vacation is easy and there is plenty of
choice for popular Caribbean golf vacations or international hot spots
like Scotland's Enchanting Kingdom.
Budget golf versus luxury golf
The final planning question you need to ask yourself is if you are
planning cheap golf vacations or luxury golf vacations. Obviously when
it comes to golf there is more opportunities for luxury but you can
easily satisfy your golf urges on a budget.
If you are working with a tighter budget these are some golf vacation
tips.
Consider staying close to home. Investigate your local course options,
or even cottage golf options. A staycation where you are able to golf
an average of 36 holes a day might just satisfy your need for a golf
vacation.
If it is not a vacation if you don't head out and "go away" then choose
a lesser known golf option. Famous golf sites command higher price
tags.
Watch for last minute all inclusive golf vacations. When we go to the
Caribbean we book the week we want off work well in advance but often
don't book our holiday until a week or two in advance to get the lowest
pricing possible.
Obviously when you are planning luxury golf vacations the skys the
limit so plan your dream vacation. Fulfill your golf dreams of
playing golf at St. Andrews or Pebble Beach. Or find an exotic
location like Thailand or South Africa.
No matter what type of golfing you are going to do while on holiday,
whether it will be an intense week with multiple rounds a day or just
one perfect round while vacationing at the beach, know that with a
little planning ahead you can make it your best golf vacation.
